Hi !

I'm a customer of GW:P and GW:F and I've been playing since Guild Wars second beta. Out of all Guild Wars build "eras" I've seen, this is the worst !

After updating the skill "IWAY", it went crazy all over Heroes Ascent!
87% of the whole community began to play this build.
Why am I against this stupid build ?

1. It's VERY cheap and doesn't require any skill at all ( Not even TS or vent )

2. 84% of all r9+ players have either IWAYed their rank, ebayed it or simply got it through previous "Tombs" bugs/exploits ( And yes I know them very well )

3. It leads GW into a disaster after seeing those newcomers who bought GW in order to play by your skill and instead we see IWAY.

That's not the enough. Anet even improved IWAY by giving them "Order of Apostasy".

All I've seen this past month is
- forming r3+ iway, PM me or show title!
- Oath trapper looking for IWAY.
- r9+ modded iway LF spirit spammer !

From unkranked to r9+ and IWAY guilds such as MATH play this build.
It's impossible to find another build in Heroes Ascent.

Here's some other funny stuff. I'm currently rank 6 and playing for a r9 guild and sometimes I do pug r9+. 2 of 10 r9+ pugs I find them very noobish. Yes, even worse than rank 5 players who are fighting themselves to rank 6.

It's very hard to determinate your true skill after seeing people IWAY after the update.
One of my friends iways so much so he doesn't even have IWAY on his PVE character.

This game is no longer Guild Wars, it's IWAY Wars. The team with the best IWAYers are the happy winners. It's like creating a game with 1 profession and 1 skill and let thousands of people fight over a title.

ANet, Guild Wars is in your hands and no others. It's up to you if you want to keep it like this or not. Don't believe me ? Go to Heroes Ascent International District 1 and see for yourself. I mean, why is every good game beeing destroyed ?

nice bs stats is all i can say, ive been in ha many times and maybe face an iway once or twice per every 10 teams i face, and there is a shitload of non iway groups forming, you must be blind.

Smite is more common than IWAY now so I'm not sure why you're complaining. I do tombs for an hour or two everyday, and when I PUG it's usually not too hard to get into balanced, spike or smite groups. You're greatly exaggerating the amount of IWAY out there to make your weak point, so forgive me if I don't care.

So most rank 9s got fame from spirit spam, spikes, or the old IWAY. Who cares? How does it effect you in any way?

So PUGS suck, we all know this. Build up a friends list and stop complaining.

If you're so tired of seeing IWAY forming and being played, then stop playing tombs, or stop playing Guild Wars all together. I'm really tired of seeing whiners complaining about how everyone doesn't play Guild Wars the way they think it should be played. Go play WoW or something, please.

And no, dual smite is popular but IWAY is more popular. There are at least 70+ IWAY guilds out there and how many dual smite ?

Meh.. why complain its free fame for me - though i do see your point, i hate getting people who iwayed their rank in my balanced pugs, some of them are decent though the majority are total crap.

You say this, but every time I go to ID1 I see about 65-75% smite, then the remaining 25-35% spread out between ranked IWAY, balanced and spikes. While actually playing in HA, I see IWAY a lot less than I used to. I'd say about 2-3 out of every 10 matches are IWAY, but 7 or 8 are smite with the rest being the odd balanced or spike group.

As far as having problems PUGing, I'm not sure what your deal is but I get into non-IWAY groups just fine. Yesterday alone I played in a few balanced groups, an NR/Tranquility balanced, smite ball and a blood spike. SO obviously other groups ARE out there, how is it that you don't see them?

Wow the list of closed IWAY threads is going to grow by 1 soon.

People are going to play what they like, IWAY is not an exploit, its a very effective build for the HA environment. The builds dont need a nerf, perhaps the game mechanics need an upgrade, but people will still play IWAY because its fun and effective.

You mention that it doesnt take skill to play, there isnt a single build in this game that takes skill to play, it takes skill to WIN with it and by win I will quote JR who will be closing this thread soon, "Playing to win = playing to win and hold HOH" IWAY can do that on top tier teams only. That is skill not an exploit. You can win fame by camping one spot and setting traps down, it might take you a year to get rank that way, but its possible. Not all IWAY is playing to grind out fame and ruin the precious rank system.

I face more blood spike than IWAY, if you are concerened that the local chat is filled with IWAY groups forming, its because IWAY is one of the few builds that is formed pug style anymore because most teams worth anything dont spam local chat to pick up players, the go guilded, or from a friends list. IWAY doesnt need to do that to have a decent run, and belive it or not thats a benefit to the game because it keeps more people playing.

has any1 come up with a solid anti-IWAY build. You'd think if thats what you're going to be seeing most often (and you all know it because of threads like this) that people would have devised a counter to it by now, so thorough and crushing, that the build would be useless if anyone even thoguht of bringing it.

Rits come to mind for all ally wide AoE buffs (not enchants; spirit buffs)...Illusion mesmers with Sympathetic Visage...necors with Chilbians and plague touch; Necrotic traversal to rape Blood Well spams...trappers with crip shot and plenty of degen to negate the skills regen. Little things like that. By your logic, a build like that would pwn 84% of the teams in HoH.

Just spitballing.

Yea, IWAY isn't really that bad anymore. A couple of months was when it was really bad, now it's just meh. Whine more about how they made the HA mechanics than IWAY.

Everytime im in ha all i see is smite builds so wheres the thread bitching about them nah i forgot all u can do is chat shit about iway. What about when bloodspike was around and like everyteam was bloodspike didnt see much moaning about iway then. Since when does using vent make u have skill i would say if an iway team can beat everyother team in their way by not using vent they actually have more skill.

nooo let iway stay i found the perfect fame farming time. When that time comes close i run iway farming builds

which is so funny and you get fame so easily

But now to the point yeah its really overpowerred, whit the come of factions and OoA and the Rt makes iway so much stronger it isnt even funny anymore.

But still there are a lot of good teams that can pwn iway whit normal builds.
